She’s ALl That (1999) Filming Locations

“She’s All That” (1999, dir. Robert Iscove) is one of the most iconic teen movies of the 1990s. Here is what some of the filming locations from the movie look like today:

“You know, l made that bet before l knew you, Laney. Before l really knew me.”
— Zack Siler, "She's All That"

Lainey Bogg’s House

Laney Bogg’s house is located at 507 Paseo De La Playa, Redondo Beach, CA.

The interior shots of Laney’s house were actually filmed in the house directly across the street at 504 Paseo De La Playa, Redondo Beach, CA. If interested, you can read more in-depth about this house at Laney Boggs’ House from “She’s All That”. You can also see what the iconic stairs that the “new, not improved, but different” Laney Boggs walked down following her makeover as well as the pool deck where Laney and Zack danced after prom look like years later by clicking on this old realty posting of the house: 504 Paseo De La Playa, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 - realtor.com®

Torrance High School - Interior, Exterior, Parking Lot, Sign, Soccer

A majority of the film takes place inside and outside of Torrance High School, located at 2200 W Carson St, Torrance, CA

The opening shots of the film show Laney and her brother Simon being dropped off at the school’s main entrance, as well as Zack parking his yellow car in a reserved class president spot located at the end of El Prado Ave (directly across the main entrance). Other notable locations of the school include the courtyard and fountain, Upper Field where the soccer game is played (Plaza Del Amo), and the parking lot where Laney initially ignores Zack and Taylor later cries about Brock (between 218th St and Martina Ave). Based on the scene, the graduation ceremony was filmed on the grass space located in front of Torrance High between W Carson St and El Prado Ave (now a memorial).

Taylor, Katie, and Chandler Shopping on Melrose Ave

When Taylor, Katie, and Chandler are discussing Taylor’s prom queen status, they are seen shopping on the 7370 block of Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA.

The small boutique that Taylor and Katie exited from used to be located at 7375 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA (now the modern dance studio Playground LA). In this scene, the friend group can be seen passing by what used to be the Red Balls store on Melrose Ave. While most of this street has changed over the years, you can still see on the Google Maps screenshot that the billboard, tall palm tree, and building with a ring-shaped outline over its door in the far background are still present.

Falafel Restaurant - Lainey Bogg’s Job

The falafel restaurant that Laney worked at was located at 7427 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA.

While the exterior and interior of the former restaurant have changed a lot since filming (it is now a Brooklyn Projects store), the adjacent liquor store seen in the film is still open. This liquor store is most visible in the scene when Dean walks up to Laney while she is cleaning a table in front of the restaurant (pictured below). Moreover, if you look closely behind Zack in the scene where he is standing inside of the falafel restaurant, then you can see outlines of the display windows of Wasteland, a thrift store located across the street that is still open today.

Below is an old image of the street from Google Maps in 2019 and 2021.

Lainey and Zack Walking Down Hollywood Boulevard

After Laney’s “Be Silent, Be Still” art performance and Zack’s Hacky-Sack improv at the performing arts theater, Laney and Zack exit a set of doors located on the 7000 block of Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA (next to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel).

The spirals located on the adjacent building can be seen, as well as the restaurant located down the street with the neon red zig-zag signage.

Leo Carrillo State Beach

The beach scene takes place at Leo Carillo State Beach at 35000 Pacific Coast Highway, Los Angeles County, CA

The Number 3 Lifeguard tower that Zack and his friends parked their cars next to has barely changed over the years. Moreover, the stairs that Dean and the others used to climb down to the beach still remains. On a map, you can find this section of the beach right next to the Leo Carrillo State Beach Sea Cave.

Cerritos Performing Arts Center

The prom scene was filmed at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center at 18000 Park Plaza Dr., Cerritos, CA

The bronze staircase on the first floor of the Center is seen clearly during the prom planning scene. Later on, the large spiral staircase appears when Zack and the other high school students arrive to prom. The exterior of the building appears to be identical to how it appeared in the 1990s, with the same circular fountain located outside.
